Released on 20 January 1964, it was the first Capitol Records Beatles album, issued in both mono and stereo.

In 2003, the album was ranked number 59 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.[citation needed]
In 2004, Meet The Beatles! was released for the first time on CD.
