"A promising life" by Chris Pancratz

Chris Pancrats is very shy artist, it seems. He never gives interviews. There are no pictures of him (he's not the guy on the album sleeve) and he has only given a couple of showcases (but only for record company people and journalists).
"A promising life" is an album that has been released more than eight months ago and that is gaining success very slowly.
Is it meant to go that slow, but with a lot of coverage and a lot of mysterious stories in the media? Does Chris Pancratz even exist? Or is he/it a project, an act that's been made up by a record company?
