"A promising life" by Chris Pancratz

Chris Pancrats is very shy artist, it seems. He never gives interviews. There are no pictures of him (he's not the guy on the album sleeve) and he has only given a couple of showcases (but only for record company people and journalists).
"A promising life" is an album that has been released more than eight months ago and that is gaining success very slowly.
Is it meant to go that slow, but with a lot of coverage and a lot of mysterious stories in the media? Does Chris Pancratz even exist? Or is he/it a project, an act that's been made up by a record company?

"The forest that I carry inside" by Lightlife

Now that is a weird combination: angelic voices of two front singers (think "Il Divo") with a soprano backing them up. Add that up to a band that sounds like Metallica but with the feel of Yes, and you have a highly original sound.
Lightlife is like nothing you've heard before. Their songs are short (between 3 and 4 minutes) and powerfull, and are not to be compared with what happens in the gothic scene.
A highly recommended debut!

"What you do when things go wrong" by Chesapeake

Nobody ever expected that the second album by Cheaspeake would sell anyhow , because it is their debut "Door to the second floor" all over again. Same brutal rock, same cliches, same lack of subtlety, same screaming voices and same loud guitars.

But "What you do when things go wrong" sells a lot above expectation. And actually exactly that bluntness and that predictable approach might be the reason why this Canadians are conquering the world right now. Eighties hard rock is back!
